Fall

Cleaned up the flowerbeds yesterday .. I love how pretty the Flowering Cabbage is this year.

I snapped this as a storm was coming in .. the colors this year have been amazing ! Happy Fall, ya'll :)

Trip To San Fran Day 1 .. Sept 27, 2012

Delta Flight 4737 To Oakland !! Jed & I went to San Francisco. 1st stop .. Winchester Mansion in San Jose.

Next stop Redwood trees (fake ones that is, I didn't/couldn't drive all the way to the Oregon border for the "real" ones.) Jed and I still enjoyed the drive in the beautiful canyon, the big houses, the views & of course the gorgeous trees.

And, we're off .. Pacifica, California next stop. We wanted to get ours toes a little wet in the Pacific !! It was pretty blustery that day and the water was freezing !!

It was now time to hit downtown San Francisco & find our Hotel & see if what I heard about parking was true !? ($42 per day to park a car !!)

We probably timed coming into town a little wrong .. there were cars are far as the eye could see and it was a parking lot.

As we rolled into town, I snapped a few pictures from the car.

Then we found our Hotel, The Serrano. Pretty nice place. We were on the 14th floor. We checked in and then headed out on a walk to find some dinner and maybe shop a little.

Pretty much we're big babies that lead a sheltered life in Utah & WE LOVE IT !! We got lost, got scared, saw the capital, ate at Show Dogs, got swore at by a crazy homeless lady, smelled lots of urine & car fumes and decided it was time for bed.

Night night day 1 in California !

September 20, 21, 22 & 23

Quilt Weekend ! Oh joy .. I waited a LONG time for this weekend. I LOVE nothing more than getting away for even a day to quilt. Cheryl, Diane & I loaded up the Jeep and off we went to St. George. Cheryl's sweet in-laws .. yes I said sweet :) In-laws get such a bad rap. I have wonderful in-laws & I think John and I are pretty swell too !!! So .. we left early Thursday morning. Went to a mini quilt show @ The Convention Center in St. George. I've had the material to make this beauty for at least a year & probably more like 2 years... Someday .. yes, someday I WILL make this quilt.

I think this is a great "guy" quilt and would go great with Jed's "twisty" black and red quilt.

This Day Of The Dead quilt was pretty swell too !

LOVE this "old lady" bag .. well, that's what brat Cheryl called it. But, me and Diane loved it .. maybe cause we're old ! lol. We aspire to make it one day soon!

We worked on aprons, quilts, eating, laughing and a duffle bag. This is a quilt Cheryl & I started and almost got done. Pretty cute, eh !?

Loved this new Block Of The Month that a shop in Hurricane is going to do. Main Street Quilt Shop. I might have signed up for it. I might do it if the price is right. I said MIGHT !

Swooooooon .. fell madly, deeply in love with this line & the FREE pattern from Moda. Funny name .. Padstow Range. But, who cares what it's named, it's D.I.V.I.N.E.

Really ? A zebra at a petting zoo in Utah !? At a truck stop !? weird ... just plain weird !!!!

September .. Fair On The 16th

We went to the fair .. last minute. The fair is the fair I'm not going to lie. It's nice to see people support it .. but, weird. I took some lovely pictures but none could be posted here. So, even though these are from the State Fair website, we went !

September flew by .. like all months this year. Had a ton of birthday's this month. 15. That I remember. My 2 oldest are ages I'm not dealing with to well. 28 & 25. Anyway. I spent the last 3 weekends of the month out of town. 12th, 13th & 14th @ a cabin in Fairview @ Skyline Mountain Resort. T.O.N.S. of fun. Cept the bears. bees. and my stupid knee.

Camping July 19 2012

We went to Strawberry in July. Strawberry River camping area that is. John actually got days off work. We loaded up all our crap .. The trailer, guns, camping gear, four wheelers, food, dog, etc. Not many people were up there .. that was SUPER nice. Jim & Natalie joined us for a day. It rained. It was hot. We rode 4 wheelers. And rode 4 wheelers. And ate food :) Here's a few photo highlights .. Dexter had fun. He HATES HATES HATES a leash/tie rope with all his being. If either are brought near him and attached he acts like he's being tortured and freezes. It's pretty funny & it's not.

And, some wildlife, landscape & peep shots. It was a fun little get away.
